Fog Lights Will Not Turn Off

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check for Body Control Module (BCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If not DTCs exists, go to next step. If any DTCs exists, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Ensure headlight switch is off. Using scan tool, check headlight switch voltage. If 4.3-4.8 volts is displayed, go to next step. If 4.3-4.8 volts is not displayed, replace headlight switch.
  3. Remove fog light relay from junction block. If fog lights turn off, go to next step. If fog lights do not turn off, repair short to voltage in Light Blue wire between junction block and fog lights. See HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS article.
  4. Install fog light relay. If relay clicks when installed, replace BCM. If fog light relay does not click when installed, replace fog light relay.
