Recliner Sensor Out Of Range High
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal "C" (Brown/Red wire) at driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to step 3 .
- Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) harness connector C2. Measure resistance in Brown/Red wire between terminal "C" at driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector and terminal No. 16 at MHSMM harness connector C2. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace MHSMM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Brown/Red wire between driver's seat recliner motor sensor and MHSMM.
- Connect driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector. Ensure all other seat motor sensor harness connectors are connected. Ensure recliner motor is operational. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor recliner position sensor voltage while operating recliner motor to both limits. If voltage display is never greater than 8 volts while motor is operating, go to next step. If voltage display is greater than 8 volts while motor is operating, replace seat track assembly.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal "A" (Brown/White wire) at driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector. If voltage is 5.5 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 5.5 volts, repair short to voltage in Brown/White wire between Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) and driver's seat recliner motor sensor.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MHSMM harness connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal No. 16 (Light Blue wire) at MHSMM harness connector C1. See Figure . If voltage is .2 volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than .2 volt, repair short to voltage in Light Blue wire between MHSMM and driver's seat recliner motor sensor.
- Turn ignition off. Connect MHSMM harness connector C1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor rear recliner position sensor voltage. If greater than .2 volt is displayed, replace MHSMM. If .2 volt or less is displayed, replace seat track assembly.
