Recliner Sensor Out Of Range Low

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal "A" (Brown/White wire) at driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector. If voltage is 4.5 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 4.5 volts, go to step  4 .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) harness connector C2. Measure resistance in Brown/White wire between terminal "A" at driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector and terminal No. 6 at MHSMM harness connector C2. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Brown/White wire between driver's seat recliner motor sensor and MHSMM.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Brown/White wire) at MHSMM harness connector C2. If resistance is greater than 100 ohms, replace MHSMM. If resistance is 100 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Brown/White wire between driver's seat recliner motor sensor and MHSMM.
  4. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor recliner riser position sensor voltage. Using a fused jumper wire, connect terminals "A" (Brown/White wire) and "B" (Light Blue wire) at driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector. If 4.5 volts or less is displayed, go to next step. If greater than 4.5 volts is displayed, replace seat track assembly.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) harness connector C1. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 16 (Light Blue wire) at MHSMM harness connector C1. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire between driver's seat recliner motor sensor and MHSMM.
  6. Measure resistance in Light Blue wire between terminal "B" at driver's seat recliner motor sensor harness connector and terminal No. 16 at MHSMM harness connector C1. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace MHSMM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Blue wire between driver's seat recliner motor sensor and MHSMM.
