DTC P0601: Internal Controller Failure

NOTE: Internal controller operation is monitored when ignition is on. DTC may be stored in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when an internal check sum for software failed and does not match the calculated value. Possible cause is a defective PCM.
  1. Turn ignition on with engine off. Using scan tool, check for DTCs.
  2. If DTC P0601: INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE does not exist, test is complete. If DTC P0601: INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE exists, replace PCM. PCM is located in engine compartment, between air cleaner and radiator. Perform TEST VER-1A .
