Programming PCM & Retrieving Information From Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM)

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below driver's side of instrument panel. See Figure.
  2. Using scan tool, enter correct VIN and mileage into PCM . Using scan tool manufacturer's instructions, clear DTCs from ABS and SRS modules.
  3. Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM then MISC. Place SKIM in secured access mode, using appropriate PIN code for vehicle. Select UPDATE SECRET KEY DATA. Data will be transferred from SKIM to PCM. If this step is not performed, vehicle will not start with new PCM.
  4. If 3 attempts are made incorrectly to enter PIN, secured access mode will be locked out for one hour. To exit lock out mode, leave ignition in ON position for one hour. Ensure battery voltage is maintained with battery charger, if necessary
