Test NTC-42: Map Sensor Circuit

  1. Disconnect Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Map sensor is located on right side of intake plenum. See Figure. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and Green/Yellow wire at MAP sensor harness connector. If voltage is 4.7-5.2 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 4.7-5.2 volts, go to step  3.
  2. Turn ignition off. Check for continuity between ground and Black/Green wire at MAP sensor harness connector. If continuity exists, inspect MAP sensor connector. Repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, replace MAP sensor. If continuity does not exist, check for open in Black/Green wire between MAP sensor and terminal No. 43 at PCM harness connector A-78. Circuit runs through junction connector No. 3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace PCM.
  3. Check Green/Yellow wire and connectors between PCM and MAP sensor. Circuit runs through junction connector No. 4. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace PCM.
