Test NTC-48: Speedometer

  1. Turn ignition off. Inspect junction connector No. 4, 18-pin in-line connector C-23, instrument cluster 17-pin connector C-05 and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors for damaged wires or terminals. PCM is located at left front corner of engine compartment, in front of Electronic Automatic Transmission Electronic Control Module (EATX-ECM), near relay box.
  2. Junction connector No. 4 is located under relay box in left front corner of engine compartment. See Figure. C-23 in-line connector is located at left front of center console. See Figure. Instrument cluster harness connector C-05 is located behind center of instrument cluster. See Figure. Repair connectors as necessary. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
  3. Check wiring between instrument cluster and PCM. Repair wiring as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
