DTC P0700: EATX Controller DTC Present

NOTE: Electronic Automatic Transaxle (EATX) controller is monitored for DTCs when ignition is on and engine is running. EATX controller may also be referred to as Transmission Control Module (TCM). DTC may be stored in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) if any DTC is set in the TCM.
  1. Start engine and allow engine to idle. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P0700: EATX CONTROLLER DTC PRESENT does not exist with start run counter equal to zero, test is complete. If DTC P0700: EATX CONTROLLER DTC PRESENT exists with start run counter equal to zero, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, check transaxle DTCs stored in the TCM and perform necessary diagnostic procedures for these DTCs. See CHRYSLER 41TE/AE ELECTRONIC CONTROLS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
