DTC P1695: No CCD Message From Body Control Module
NOTE:
For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
NOTE:
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Body Control Module (BCM) communicate messages across the CCD bus, as information from either module is needed to operate their respective systems. Messages from BCM are monitored when engine is running. DTC may be stored in PCM if no CCD bus messages are received from BCM for 30 seconds. Possible causes are; open on CCD bus, defective BCM, defective PCM, or defective connectors or wiring.
- Turn ignition on with engine off. Using scan tool, clear DTCs from PCM. Start engine and allow engine to idle for one minute.
- Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P1695: NO CCD MESSAGE FROM BODY CONTROLLER with a start run count of zero exists, go to next step. If DTC P1695: NO CCD MESSAGE FROM BODY CONTROLLER with a start run count of zero does not exist, go to step 7 .
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect PCM and BCM connectors. PCM is located at driver's side front corner of engine compartment, just below air cleaner assembly. The BCM is located on rear of junction block at driver's side of instrument panel. See Fig 1 .
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminal No. 59 (Violet/Brown wire) on PCM connector C2 and terminal No. 5 (Violet/Brown wire) on BCM connector C1. BCM connector C1 is a Black 14-pin connector located near bottom of BCM. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open on Violet/Brown wire between PCM and BCM. Perform TEST VER-2A .
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminal No. 60 (White/Black wire) on PCM connector C2 and terminal No. 13 (White/Black wire) on BCM connector C1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open on White/Black wire between PCM and BCM. Perform TEST VER-2A .
- Reinstall BCM connectors. Turn ignition on with engine off. Select BCM on scan tool. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, replace BCM. Reprogram BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING. Perform TEST VER-2A . If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-2A .
- Turn ignition off. Inspect wiring harness and connectors between PCM and BCM. PCM is located at driver's side front corner of engine compartment, just below air cleaner assembly. The BCM is located on rear of junction block at driver's side of instrument panel. See Fig 1 . If no problems exist, test is complete. If any problems exist, repair wiring or connectors as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2A .
