Body Verification Test

  1. Reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors. If Body Control Module (BCM) was replaced, you must enable the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) or anti-theft system (if equipped) by using the key to unlock the liftgate while hood is open. VTSS will function fully after 4 engine cranking cycles have been performed. If BCM was replaced you must program other options as necessary.
NOTE: To enable automatic headlight operation, vehicle must be driven more than 3 miles and BCM must see one key transmission from the remote keyless entry transmitter.
  2. Ensure ignition is on. Using scan tool, clears all DTCs. Turn ignition off and wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on and fully operate system that was malfunctioning.
  3. If system is operating properly, continue to the next step. If system is not operating properly, check possible causes for the malfunction.
  4. Using scan tool, read DTCs stored in the BCM. If no DTCs exist and customer's complaint cannot be duplicated, test is complete. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test for the DTC. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
