Powertrain Verification Test

NOTE: If Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was replaced, new PCM must be programmed to prevent DTCs from being set in Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module and Air Bag Control Module (ACM). Using scan tool, enter correct Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and current mileage into new PCM. Using scan tool manufacturer's instructions, clear DTCs from ABS module and ACM.
  1. Remove all test equipment and jumper wires. Ensure all engine components are properly installed. Connect any disconnected components. If Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has not been replaced, go to next step. If PCM has been replaced, connect scan tool to Data Link Connect, enter correct Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and current mileage into new PCM. Go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool manufacturer's instructions, clear DTCs from all modules. Start engine. Allow engine to reach normal operating temperature. Road test vehicle. Operate all accessories that are related to repair. After road test is complete, check for DTCs. If any DTCs are present, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no DTCs are present but symptom still exists, see appropriate TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no DTCs are present and all components are functioning properly, system is operating correctly and customer's complaint cannot be duplicated. Repair is complete.
