Gearshift Cable

  1. Park vehicle on level ground and apply parking brake. Place transmission in Park and remove ignition key. Loosen cable adjustment screw at manual control lever on transaxle. See Fig 1 . Pull transaxle operating lever fully forward to park detent position.
  2. Release parking brake, and then rock vehicle to ensure it remains in Park. Reapply parking brake. Tighten cable adjustment screw to 70 INCH lbs. (8 N.m). Gearshift cable should now be properly adjusted. Verify gearshift indicator still displays corresponding gear completely. If operation is not okay, readjustment of gearshift cable may be required.
