Memory Switch Inoperative

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY SYSTEMS VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
NOTE: Ensure seat frame is connected to ground if seat frame is unbolted from vehicle.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect memory set switch connector. Measure resistance between ground and memory set switch connector terminal No. 3, ground circuit (Black wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, leave memory set switch connector disconnected, and go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire.
  2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on memory set switch connector terminal No. 6, memory position 1 switch sense circuit (Pink/Red wire). If voltage is more than 0.5 volt, leave memory set switch connector disconnected, and go to next step. If voltage is 0.5 volt or less, go to step  7 .
  3. Measure voltage on memory set switch connector terminal No. 4, memory position 2 switch sense circuit (Pink/White wire). If voltage is more than 0.5, leave memory set switch connector disconnected, and go to next step. If all voltage is 0.5 volt or more, leave memory set switch connector disconnected, and go to step  6 .
  4. Measure voltage on memory set switch connector terminal No. 5, memory set switch sense circuit (Pink/Black wire). If voltage is more than 0.5 volt, replace memory set switch. If voltage is 0.5 volt or less, leave memory set switch connector disconnected, and go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Measure resistance of memory set switch sense circuit (Pink/Black wire) between memory set switch connector terminal No. 5 and MHSMM connector C1 terminal 13. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace MHSMM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink/Black wire.
  6. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Measure resistance of memory position 2 switch sense circuit (Pink/White wire) between memory set switch connector terminal No. 4 and MHSMM connector C1 terminal 25. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace MHSMM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink/White wire.
  7. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Measure resistance of memory position 1 switch sense circuit (Pink/Red wire) between memory set switch connector terminal No. 6 and MHSMM connector C1 terminal 12. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace MHSMM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink/Red wire.
