Removal & Installation (PT Cruiser)

  1. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located in left rear of engine compartment, behind brake master cylinder. See Fig 1. Remove air cleaner lid. Disconnect inlet air temperature sensor and air hose.
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove PCM mounting screws. Disconnect PCM harness connectors. Lift PCM upward to remove.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten PCM mounting screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Program PCM as necessary. See PROGRAMMING .
