Chime Sounds With Driver Door Open (Ignition Key Removed)

  1. Ensure all exterior lights are off. Remove key from ignition switch. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER then INPUT/OUTPUT. Read KEY-IN IGNITION status. If scan tool displays OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool displays OPEN, replace Body Control Module (BCM).
  2. Disconnect ignition switch connector. Using scan tool, read KEY-IN IGNITION status. If scan tool displays CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays OPEN, replace ignition switch.
  3. Disconnect BCM connector C2. Measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 24, key-in ignition switch sense circuit (Light Blue wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, replace BCM.
