Chime Sounds With Driver Seat Belt Fastened

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Fasten driver seat belt. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER then INPUT/OUTPUT. If scan tool displays CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays OPEN, replace Body Control Module (BCM).
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect seat belt switch connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read SEAT BELT SW status. If scan tool displays CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays OPEN, replace seat belt switch.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM connector C4. Measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C4 terminal No. 15, seat belt switch sense circuit (Light Green/Red wire). See Figure If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Red wire. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, replace BCM.
