Pass Door Ajar CKT STG

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C4. Disconnect passenger door lock motor/ajar switch connector. Using a 12-volt test light connected to battery voltage, probe BCM connector C4 terminal No. 2, passenger door ajar switch sense circuit (Tan/Red wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, repair short to ground in Tan/Red wire. If test light does not illuminate, leave passenger door lock motor/ajar switch connector disconnected, and go to next step.
  2. Ensure BCM connectors are properly connected. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select INPUTS/OUTPUTS, then read PASS DOOR AJAR SW status. Connect, then disconnect passenger door lock motor/ajar switch connector. If scan tool display switches from CLOSED to OPEN, replace passenger door lock motor/ajar switch. If scan tool display does not switch from CLOSED to OPEN, replace BCM.
