Right Rear Door Ajar CKT Open
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect right rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector. Using a 12-volt test light connected to battery voltage, probe right rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector terminal No. 2, ground circuit (Black wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, leave right rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector disconnected, and go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black wire.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C4. Measure resistance of right rear door ajar switch sense circuit (Tan/Red wire) between BCM connector C4 terminal No. 10 and right rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector terminal No. 1. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, leave right rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector disconnected, and go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Tan/Red wire.
- Ensure BCM connectors are properly connected. Using a 12-volt test light connected to battery voltage, probe right rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector terminal No. 1, right rear door ajar switch sense circuit (Tan/Red wire). Open right rear door. If test light illuminates with right rear door open, replace BCM. If test light does not illuminate with right rear door open, replace right rear door lock motor/ajar switch.
