ABS Warning Indicator Not Operating Properly

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). If scan tool communicates with CAB, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with CAB, perform NO RESPONSE FROM CONTROLLER ANTI-LOCK BRAKE  test under COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If no DTCs exist, go to next step. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  3. To start bulb test, turn ignition off, then on. If ABS warning indicator does not illuminate for 5-10 seconds, replace instrument cluster. If ABS warning indicator illuminates for 5-10 seconds, fault may be intermittent. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, test is complete.
