All Gauges Not Operating Correctly
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Remove and inspect fuses No. 7 (20-amp) and No. 14 (10-amp) in junction block. See Figure . If both fuses are okay, install fuses, and go to next step. If either fuse is open, repair power distribution circuit as necessary. See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY, then BODY COMPUTER. If scan tool communicates with Body Control Module (BCM), go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with BCM, perform BUS +/- SIGNAL OPEN FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE test under COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM.
- Using scan tool, select ELECTRO/MECH CLUSTER. If scan tool communicates with instrument cluster, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with instrument cluster, perform BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN FROM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER test.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C1. Connect a 12-volt test light between battery voltage and instrument cluster connector C1 terminal No. 6, ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates brightly, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, repair open in Black/Light Green wire.
- Disconnect instrument cluster connector C2. Turn ignition on. Connect a 12-volt test light between ground and instrument cluster connector C2 terminal No. 2, fused ignition switch output circuit (Dark Blue/White wire). If test light illuminates brightly, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, repair open in Dark Blue/White wire.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C1. Connect a 12-volt test light between ground and instrument cluster connector C1 terminal No. 1, fused B+ circuit (Pink wire). If test light illuminates brightly, replace instrument cluster. If test light does not illuminate brightly, repair open in Pink wire.
