Engine Coolant Temperature Indicator Not Operating Properly

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Start engine and allow it to reach until normal operating temperature. If engine temperature gauge operates properly, go to next step. If engine temperature gauge does not operate properly, perform TEMPERATURE GAUGE NOT OPERATING PROPERLY  test.
  2. To start bulb teat, turn ignition off, then on. If engine coolant temperature indicator does not illuminate for 3-10 seconds, replace instrument cluster. If engine coolant temperature indicator illuminates for 3-10 seconds, fault may be intermittent. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, test is complete.
