Low Fuel Indicator Not Operating Properly

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Start engine and observe fuel gauge operation. If fuel gauge operates properly, go to next step. If fuel gauge does not operate properly, perform FUEL GAUGE NOT OPERATING PROPERLY  test.
  2. To start bulb test, turn ignition off, then on. Observe low fuel indicator. If low fuel indicator does not illuminate for 3-10 seconds, replace instrument cluster. If low fuel indicator illuminates for 3-10 seconds, fault may be intermittent. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, test is complete.
