Courtesy Light Output Short To Battery
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect junction block connector C11. See Figure . Turn ignition on. If all courtesy lights except overhead console lights illuminate, go to next step. If all courtesy lights do not illuminate and overhead console lights illuminates, leave junction block connector C11 disconnected, and go to step 3 .
- Turn ignition off. Ensure junction block connector C11 is properly reconnected. Turn ignition on. Turn on all overhead console lights with each individual switch. If any light fails to illuminate using individual switch, replace appropriate light bulb. If all lights illuminate using individual switch, repair short to voltage in courtesy light driver circuit (Yellow wire) between junction block and overhead console.
- Turn ignition off. Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from back of junction block. Remove driver door courtesy light bulb. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on driver door courtesy light bulb 2-pin socket terminal No. 1, courtesy light driver circuit (Yellow wire). If voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Yellow wire. If voltage does not exist, replace BCM.
