BUS Messages Missing
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Body Control Module (BCM). If scan tool communicates with BCM, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with BCM, perform BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE test under COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, then SYSTEM TEST. If scan tool displays PCM ACTIVE ON THE BUS, go to next step. If scan tool does not display PCM ACTIVE ON THE BUS, perform NO RESPONSE FROM POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCI BUS) test under COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM.
- Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC). If scan tool communicates with MIC, replace overhead console. If scan tool does not communicate with MIC, perform BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN FROM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER test under COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM.
