Door Lock Inhibit Inoperative
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Open driver door. Using scan tool, read DRIVER DOOR AJAR status. If scan tool displays CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays OPEN, perform DRIVER DOOR AJAR CKT OPEN test under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM.
- Ensure key is in ignition switch. Using scan tool, read KEY-IN IGNITION status. If scan tool displays CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). If scan tool displays OPEN, go to next step.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect ignition switch connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between ignition switch connector terminal No. 2, key-in ignition switch sense circuit (Light Blue wire) and terminal No. 3, ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire). See Figure . Using scan tool, read KEY-IN IGNITION status. If scan tool displays CLOSED, replace ignition switch. If scan tool displays OPEN, leave ignition switch connector disconnected, and go to next step.
- Remove jumper wire. Ensure all lights are off. Measure resistance between ground and ignition switch connector terminal No. 3, ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, leave ignition switch connector disconnected, and go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black/Light Green wire.
- Disconnect BCM connector C2. Measure resistance of key-ignition switch sense circuit (Light Blue wire) between ignition switch connector terminal No. 2 and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 24. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Light Blue wire.
