Air Bag System Verification Test

WARNING: DO NOT reconnect battery before turning ignition on and ensuring no one is in vehicle. Air bag may deploy.

Turn ignition off. Remove all test equipment and jumper wires. Connect any disconnected components, except battery. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on, then reconnect battery. Using scan tool, retrieve, record and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) from all modules. Turn ignition off. Wait 15 seconds. Turn ignition on. Wait one minute. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs from all modules. Read DTCs with passenger air bag switch in on, then off positions (if equipped). If no DTCs exist, system is operating correctly and customer complaint cannot be duplicated, repair is complete. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test.
