DTC P0404: EGR Position Sensor Rationality: Description

EGR system is monitored when engine is running and battery voltage is more than 10.4 volts. DTC will set in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) memory when EGR flow or valve movement is not as expected. Possible causes are: high resistance in 5-volt supply circuit, EGR sensor signal circuit open, defective EGR sensor, EGR solenoid control circuit open or shorted, sensor ground circuit open or defective PCM.
