DTC P0622: Generator Field Not Switching Properly: Description

Generator field driver circuit is monitored with engine running. DTC will set in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) memory when PCM tries to regulate generator field with no result during monitoring. Possible causes are: Auto Shutdown (ASD) relay circuit open, generator field driver circuit open or shorted to ground, defective generator or defective PCM.
