DTC P1486: EVAP Leak Monitor Pinched Hose: Description

EVAP leak monitor is monitored after cold start with ambient temperature of 40-90°F (4.4-32°C) and coolant temperature within 10°F of ambient temperature. For DTC to set in PCM, Leak Detection Pump (LDP) test must pass first. If PCM suspects a pinched hose, it will not set a DTC until it runs EVAP purge flow monitor. If EVAP purge flow monitor does not pass, pinched hose DTC will be set. Possible causes are: intermittent LDP monitor failure, obstruction in EVAP system between EVAP canister and fuel tank, EVAP canister obstructed, obstruction in hose or tube between EVAP canister and purge solenoid, LDP pressure hose obstructed or defective LDP.
