Display Segments Fail To Illuminate

NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Possible Causes:
- Compass/Mini Trip Computer
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve Powertrain Control Module (PCM) DTCs. If no PCM DTCs exist, go to next step. If any PCM DTCs exist, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
- Check fuel gauge and odometer for proper operation. If problem exists, repair as necessary. Perform appropriate test(s) under INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SYSTEMS . If problem does not exist, fault may be intermittent. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, test is complete.
