Ignition Status Message Not Received

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY SYSTEMS VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Body Control Module (BCM). If scan tool communicates with BCM, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with BCM, perform BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE  test under COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM.
  2. Using scan tool, clear IGNITION STATUS MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED DTC from memory heated seat/mirror module. Turn ignition off, then start engine. Wait one minute. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If IGNITION STATUS MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED DTC resets, go to next step. If IGNITION STATUS MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED DTC does not reset, test is complete. Perform MEMORY SYSTEMS VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, replace MHSMM.
