Anti-Lock Brake System Verification Test

NOTE: Ensure battery is fully charged.
  1. Turn ignition off. Remove all test equipment and jumper wires. Connect any disconnected components. Ensure all accessories are off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve, record and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) from all modules. Turn engine on and allow it to run for 2 minutes. Turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs from all modules. If no DTCs exist, go to next step. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test.   2. WARNING: Ensure brake system is operating properly before test driving vehicle.
  3. Test drive vehicle for at least 5 minutes and perform several anti-lock braking stops. Turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs from all modules. If no DTCs exist, system is operating correctly and customer complaint cannot be duplicated, repair is complete. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test.
