Engine Controls - Self-Diagnostics: Introduction
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and energy systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

Before performing any testing procedures, check for any related technical service bulletins.
Perform all basic diagnostic procedures in appropriate BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES article. If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) are present after entering self-diagnostics, go to appropriate TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article for diagnosis by symptom.
