Side Air Bag Control Module

On vehicles equipped with side air bags, Side Impact Air Bag Control Modules (SIACM) are located below front door opening, in front of "B" pillar. SIACM performs self-diagnostics and circuit tests to monitor system function. SIACM reports to ORC once every second. If any fault exists, SIACM will request ORC to turn air bag indicator light on. ORC will send a message via PCI bus circuit to Electro-Mechanical Instrument Panel (EMIC) to turn air bag indicator light on.
