VTSS Indicator Fails To Flash

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Ensure system is enabled before continuing. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Black 26-pin Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module connector, located under center of instrument panel top cover. See Figure . Connect a jumper wire between RKE module connector terminal No. 17, Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) indicator driver circuit (Black/Orange wire) and ground. See Figure . If VTSS indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If VTSS indicator illuminates, replace RKE module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Disconnect Black 26-pin instrument cluster connector, located behind left upper instrument panel. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of VTSS indicator circuit (Black/Orange wire) between RKE module connector terminal No. 17 and instrument cluster connector terminal No. 5. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, perform ANY PCI BUS INDICATOR INOPERATIVE  under INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Black/Orange wire.
