Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter

  1. Using a voltmeter, check Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter batteries. If voltage is 3 or more volts on each battery, go to next step. If voltage is less than 3 volts on any battery, replace battery(s).
  2. Ensure RKE transmitter is programmed. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If RKE transmitter is programmed but still does not operate properly, go to next step.
  3. Program a known-good RKE transmitter. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If known-good RKE transmitter operates properly, replace original RKE transmitter and program all transmitters to be used on this vehicle. If known-good RKE transmitter does not operate properly, go to next step.
  4. RKE module is assumed to be defective at this time. Replace RKE module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
