Side Impact Air Bag Control Module (SIACM)

On vehicles equipped with side air bags, each SIACM, located at the base of each "B" pillar performs self-diagnostics and circuit tests to monitor system function. SIACM reports to ORC once every second. If any fault exists, SIACM will request ORC to turn air bag indicator light on. ORC will send a message via PCI bus circuit to Electro-Mechanical Instrument Panel (EMIC) to turn air bag indicator light on.
