Courtesy Lights Totally Inoperative

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Remove dome light lens. Remove and inspect dome light bulb. Replace bulb if necessary. Using a voltmeter, check voltage on dome light connector terminal No. 2, fused B+ circuit (Pink wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, reinstall dome light bulb and go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire.
  2. Remove instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - PT CRUISER article. Connect a jumper wire between instrument cluster harness connector C1 terminal No. 7, courtesy light control circuit (Yellow wire) and ground. See Figure. If dome light does not illuminate, go to next step. If dome light illuminates, replace instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - PT CRUISER article.
  3. Leave jumper wire connected and instrument panel connector disconnected. Remove dome light lens. Remove dome light bulb. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and dome light connector terminal No. 3, courtesy light control circuit (Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, test is complete. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Yellow wire.
