Window Motor
- Remove door trim panel. Disconnect power window motor harness connector. Connect positive (+) lead from a test battery to either of two motor terminals. Connect negative (-) lead from test battery to remaining motor terminal. The motor should now rotate in one direction to either move window up or down.
- Reverse connections across motor terminals to check operation in other direction. If window is in full up or full down position, motor will not operate in that direction by design. If OK, test window switch and/or repair circuits from motor to switch as necessary. If motor is not OK, replace window regulator assembly.
- If motor operates in both directions, check operation of window glass and lift mechanism through its complete up and down travel. There should be no binding or sticking of window glass or lift mechanism through entire range of travel.
