Head Status RX Failure
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Monitored & Set Condition
- When Monitored: With the ignition on.
- Set Condition: The BCM does not detect the correct voltage on the fused ignition switch input.
Possible Causes:
- Fused Ignition Switch Output Circuit Shorted To Ground
- Intermittent Short To Ground
- Fused Ignition Switch Output Circuit Open
- Body Control Module
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Remove and inspect fuse No. 14 in junction block. If fuse is okay, go to step 3 . If fuse is open, go to next step.
- Replace fuse No. 14. Turn ignition on, then off. Remove and inspect fuse No. 14. If fuse is open, replace fuse and repair short to ground in Dark Blue/White wire between junction block and Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC). If fuse is okay, fault may be intermittent. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, test is complete.
- Ensure ignition is off. Install fuse No. 14. Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from back of junction block. Ensure all junction block connectors are completely connected. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on terminal No. 5 at BCM connector on back of junction block. See Figure and Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block. See JUNCTION BLOCK under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
