Testing
- Attempt to start engine. If engine starts and runs, go to next step. If engine does not start and run, perform PCI BUS COMMUNICATION FAILURE test.
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Transmission Control Module (TCM), then Body Control Module (BCM). If scan tool communicates with both modules, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with both modules, perform NO RESPONSE FROM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE OR BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN and/or BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN OR NO RESPONSE FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE test(s).
- Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with instrument cluster. If scan tool communicates with instrument cluster, replace instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article. If scan tool does not communicate with instrument cluster, perform MIC MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED test.
