Driver Heated Seat Switch Stuck In High State
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Monitored & Set Condition
- When Monitored: Ignition on.
- Set Condition: If the switch is stuck active for 30 seconds, this code will set and the MHSMM will ignore the input until it's state has changed. The code will remain in the module memory for 20 key cycles.
Possible Causes:
- Driver Heated Seat Switch
- Driver Seat Heater Switch MUX Circuit Short To Voltage
- Memory Heated Seat Mirror Module
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver heated seat switch connector. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY MEMORY SEAT MODULE, then clear DTCs. Turn ignition off, then on. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If DRIVER HEATED SEAT SWITCH OPEN/SHORTED TO GROUND DTC is retrieved, replace driver heated seat switch. See POWER SEATS article. If DRIVER HEATED SEAT SWITCH OPEN/SHORTED TO GROUND DTC is not retrieved, leave driver heated seat switch connector disconnected and go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 18, driver seat heater switch MUX circuit (Tan/Dark Green wire). See Figure . If no voltage exists, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Tan/Dark Green wire.
