Passenger Heated Seat Switch Stuck In High State

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Monitored & Set Condition

  1. When Monitored: Ignition on.
  2. Set Condition: If the switch is stuck active for 30 seconds, this code will set and the MHSMM will ignore the input until it's state has changed. The code will remain in the module memory for 20 key cycles.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect passenger heated seat switch connector. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off, then on. Using scan tool, select BODY MEMORY SEAT MODULE, then retrieve DTCs. If PASSENGER HEATED SEAT SWITCH OPEN/SHORTED TO GROUND DTC is retrieved, replace passenger heated seat switch. See POWER SEATS article. If PASSENGER HEATED SEAT SWITCH OPEN/SHORTED TO GROUND DTC is not retrieved, leave passenger heated seat switch connector disconnected and go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 5, passenger seat heater switch MUX circuit (Tan/Light Green wire). See Figure . If no voltage exists, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Tan/Light Green wire.
