Courtesy Lights Inoperative - Overhead Lights
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Possible Causes:
- Junction Block Open
- Courtesy Light Driver Circuit Open
- Fuse No. 19 Open
- Intermittent Condition
Testing
- Using a voltmeter, backprobe junction block connector C11 terminal No. 6, fused B+ circuit (Pink wire). See Figure and Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block. See JUNCTION BLOCK under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Remove and inspect fuse No. 19 in junction block. If fuse is open, replace fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Using a fused jumper wire connected to ground, backprobe junction block connector C11 terminal No. 8, courtesy lights driver circuit. (Yellow wire). If overhead courtesy lights do not illuminate, repair open in Yellow wire. If overhead courtesy lights illuminate, fault may be intermittent. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, test is complete.
