No BCM Messages Received
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Possible Causes:
- DTC Present
- BCM No Response
- Overhead Console - BCM Open
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If NO BCM MESSAGES RECEIVED DTC resets, go to next step. If NO BCM MESSAGES RECEIVED DTC does not reset, fault may be intermittent. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, test is complete.
- Using scan tool, select BODY COMPUTER. If scan tool displays BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE, perform BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN OR NO RESPONSE FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE test under COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM. If scan tool does not display BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE, replace overhead console. See OVERHEAD CONSOLES - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article.
