Driver Door Fails To Unlock From Any Switch
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Possible Causes:
- Driver Door Unlock Relay Fused B+
- Relay Control Circuit Check
- Junction Block - Driver Door Unlock Relay Control Circuit Open
- Body Control Module - Driver Door Unlock Relay Driver Open
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Remove driver door unlock relay from junction block. See Figure and Figure . Connect a 12-volt test light between ground and door unlock relay connector terminal No. 87. If test light illuminates brightly, leave driver door unlock relay removed and go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, replace junction block. See JUNCTION BLOCK under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Connect test light between ground and door unlock relay connector terminal No. 88. If test light illuminates brightly, leave driver door unlock relay removed and go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, replace junction block. See JUNCTION BLOCK under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Ensure ignition is off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Connect test light between driver door unlock relay connector terminals No. 88 and 90. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate driver door unlock relay. If test light flashes, replace driver door unlock relay. If test light does not flash, leave driver door unlock relay removes and go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from back of junction block. Measure resistance between driver door unlock relay connector terminal No. 90 and terminal No. 13 at BCM connector on back of junction block. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace junction block. See JUNCTION BLOCK under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
