Driver Mirror Horizontal Sensor Out Of Range Low

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Monitored & Set Condition

  1. When Monitored: Ignition on.
  2. Set Condition: This code is set when the mirror sensor feedback to the MHSMM is less than the mirror out of range low value stored in EEPROM.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 20, driver mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Blue/Yellow wire). See Figure . If voltage is 4.5-5.0 volts, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage is less than 4.5-5.0 volts, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver mirror connector. Measure resistance of driver mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Blue/Yellow wire) between driver mirror connector terminal No. 9 and MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 20. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, leave connectors disconnected and go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Dark Blue/Yellow wire.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and driver mirror connector terminal No. 9, driver mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Blue/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/Yellow wire. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, leave driver mirror connector disconnected and go to next step.
  4. Ensure MHSMM connector is properly connected. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on driver mirror connector terminal No. 6, driver mirror 5-volt supply circuit (Gray/Light Blue wire). If voltage is 4.5-5.0 volts, replace driver mirror. If voltage is not 5.5-5.0 volts, leave driver mirror connector disconnected and go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect MHSMM connector C2. Measure resistance of driver mirror 5-volt supply circuit (Gray/Light Blue wire) between driver mirror connector terminal No. 6 and MHSMM connector C2 terminal No. 7. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Gray/Light Blue wire.
