Memory Position No. 1 Stuck
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEMS VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Monitored & Set Condition
- When Monitored: Ignition on.
- Set Condition: If the switch is active for 30 seconds the MHSMM will ignore the input until the state has changed. Once the stuck position is removed the seat will return to normal operation. The code will remain in memory for 20 ignition cycles.
Possible Causes:
- Memory Position 1 Switch Sense Circuit Short To Ground
- Memory Set Switch
- Memory Heated Seat Mirror Module
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect memory set switch connector. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read MEM POS 1 SW status. If scan tool does not display OPEN, leave memory set switch connector disconnected and go to next step. If scan tool displays OPEN, replace memory set switch. See POWER SEATS article.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Measure resistance between ground and memory set switch connector terminal No. 6, memory position 1 switch sense circuit (Pink/Red wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Red wire. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
