NOTE: If PCM and Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) are both replaced, all new keys must be used.
  1. Obtain vehicles unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to SKIM from vehicle owner or manufacturer. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located on bottom of instrument panel, to left of brake pedal. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, enter correct VIN and mileage into PCM. Go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, clear DTCs from ABS CAB module and ORC. Using scan tool, select BODY, THEFT ALARM, then SKIM. Place SKIM in secured access mode by entering 4-digit PIN. Using scan tool, select UPDATE TRANSFER KEY DATA. Secret key data will transfer from SKIM to PCM. Go to next step.
  3. Attempt to start vehicle. If vehicle starts and stays running and customers complaint cannot be duplicated, system is operating correctly and repair is complete. If vehicle does not start or stay running, repair by symptom. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES - CARS - EXCEPT SEBRING COUPE & STRATUS COUPE article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
