Low Beam Headlights Will Not Turn Off

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the off position. With the DRBIII, read the headlamp switch voltage. If the DRBIII displays headlamp switch voltage between 4.3 and 4.8 volts, go to next step. If the DRBIII does not display headlamp switch voltage between 4.3 and 4.8 volts, replace the multifunction switch.
  2. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the instrument cluster. Turn the ignition on. Measure voltage of the dimmer switch low beam output circuit. If the voltage is less than 1.0 volt, go to next step. If the voltage is more than 1.0 volt, repair the dimmer switch low beam output circuit for a short to voltage condition.
  3. Turn the ignition off. Remove circuit breaker 2 from the junction block. Disconnect the instrument cluster harness connector. Measure resistance of the dimmer switch low beam output circuit and ground. If the resistance is less than 100.0 ohms, replace the fuse block. If the resistance is more than 100.0 ohms, replace the instrument cluster.
